3 Disneyland Attractions to Look Forward to in 2023

As a self-proclaimed “Disney Adult,” I enjoy keeping up with all of the new magic that the Disneyland Resort has planned, and I get excited when I see the “Please Pardon our Pixie Dust” signs across the parks.

Disney is constantly changing to keep the magic and happiness alive, which makes fans like me so excited for that “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” and the future of the Disneyland Resort. As Walt Disney said…

Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.

2023 marks Disney’s 100th Anniversary- 100 years of storytelling, innovation and imagination. And with this celebration comes more spectacular rides and attractions coming soon to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure this year and into 2024:

1. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Initially brought to life at Walt Disney World in 2020, Disneyland has finally opened Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown’s El CapiTOON Theater! This is a highly anticipated, family-friendly attraction that puts you inside the crazy cartoon world as you board a train conducted by Goofy that brings you along on an adventure with Mickey, Minnie and friends. Along with the opening of this ride on January 27th, is a new, reimagined Toontown to open to the public later.

2. Adventureland Treehouse

After the closure of Tarzan’s Treehouse, Disney Imagineers began tinkering away at the new Adventureland Treehouse, located between Indiana Jones Adventure and Pirates of the Caribbean. This reimagined treehouse pays homage to the original treehouse that Walt Disney and Imagineers built for the Swiss Family Robinson film in 1962. Guests will walk amongst the trees inside the family’s rooms filled with found objects, trinkets and natural resources. The Disneyland Resort has announced that the doors to the family treehouse will open in February 2023.

3. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Following suit with Walt Disney World, Disneyland’s famous ride, Splash Mountain is set to be reimagined with a new theme inspired by the 2009 movie, “The Princess and the Frog.” This ride picks off after Tiana opens her dream restaurant, Tiana’s Palace, which she persevered to make come true. Many concept pictures and models have been released highlighting the new changes for the ride, and fans are excited to see the dream become a reality, much like Tiana’s story. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is planned to open in 2024.

Of course, there are many more new plans for the Disneyland Resort to look forward to in the upcoming year… and the year after that, and the year after that. So stay tuned for more announcements and pixie dust, and make sure to visit the Happiest Place on Earth to see all of the new attractions.
